Privacy notice
This website collects as little as possible. This notice explains what we receive when you contact us and what we do with it.
Who we are
Wagenberg Technology Group LLC (“we”) runs this website. Questions about this notice go to thomas@wagenbergtech.com.
What we collect
- Contact form. Your name, business email, company, and the description you write. Our web host, Cloudflare, receives the form and stores it in a database in our Cloudflare account, where we read it, until we delete it. With the form, your browser also sends a random reference number, so a message sent twice is counted once, and how you reached the site: the name of the referring website or a campaign tag, never the full address you came from. We keep these with your message in our own records to see which channels bring real inquiries; they are not sent to Google Analytics. The form also sends the page of this site you first landed on during your visit and the domain of the website that referred you (for example google.com, never the full address), used only to understand how inquiries find us. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, these are not recorded. You can also simply email us instead.
- Abuse protection. To stop spam, the form has a hidden field that only automated programs fill in, and the site limits how many messages one network address can send in an hour. For that limit it keeps a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of the address, never the address itself, for at most one day.
- Hosting logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and reliability.
- Visit statistics, only if you allow them. When you first visit, we ask whether we may use Google Analytics. Nothing is loaded from Google unless you click “Allow”. If you allow it, Google Analytics sets cookies and records which pages you view, roughly where you are (country or city level), your device and browser type, and which of our buttons you click, such as “Request a consultation”, a successful contact form send, or a send that failed (only the kind of failure). It never receives what you type into the form. We turned off Google’s advertising features and data-sharing options for this site. If you click “No thanks”, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Google Analytics stays off. Your choice is saved only in your own browser, and you can change it at any time with “Privacy choices” at the bottom of the home page. On our own devices we may store a small marker that tells Google Analytics the visit is ours, so staff testing does not count as visitors.
What we do not do
- No advertising or advertising cookies, and no analytics unless you allow it (see above).
- Fonts and our own scripts are served from this website. The only outside script is Google Analytics, and only after you allow it.
- We do not sell your information or add you to a mailing list.
How we use your message
Only to reply to you and to discuss the work you asked about. Your message is kept as ordinary business correspondence in our email.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing thomas@wagenbergtech.com.
